Auguste Flick - Still Life With Coffee Cup - 1906 - Lorraine

Artist: Auguste Emile Flick (né En 1845)
Landscape painter and watercolorist Flick was born in Metz in 1845. Trained by Pils and Meissonnier, he exhibited at the Salon from 1870 to 1882. At the 1865 Metz Salon, he presented a canvas, "After the Hunt," and a charcoal drawing, "Italian Mountaineer." His notable works include: Banks of the Moselle, Cuirassier on Duty at Camp, and Avenue du Bois de Boulogne. At the 1880 Nancy Salon of the SLAA (Société des Artistes Artistiques d'Argent), he exhibited two interesting small works, "Little Piffararo" and "Forest in Snowy Weather." At the 1884 Salon, he presented "Cliffs of Villerville near Trouville-sur-Mer." At the 1887 Salon, he exhibited "Under a Ray of Sunshine." He won a Bronze Medal at the 1889 Universal Exposition.
