Artist: Edmond Girard (1866-1949)
under serpente bearing a studio stamp

The Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Angers owns a representative collection of the work of this remarkable artist, Edmond Girard. Born in 1892, Girard exhibited at numerous Salons between 1890 and 1914. Marked by the war, he divided his life between the Arts and his commitment to Education. He died in 1953.

This series of eight still lifes reveals a little-known facet of his work, more focused on the landscapes of Angers. It reveals his talent in handling the three pencils and in particular the black chalk.

The asked price is that of the individual sheet, preserved in its original mounting created by the artist.A price for the entire set is of course possible.
