Pair of Covered Ceramic Vases – Dragons and Phoenix. A beautiful pair of covered, glazed ceramic vases, ovoid in shape, richly decorated in the style of traditional Chinese art. Each vase features polychrome decoration on a particularly luminous turquoise background. Both sides are adorned with major symbolic motifs: imperial Chinese dragons with sinuous bodies moving among foliage, multicolored phoenixes in flight, accompanied by blooming peonies, symbols of prosperity and happiness. The whole is enhanced by decorative friezes in shades of yellow, cobalt blue, pink, and green, highlighting the upper part as well as the polygonal base. The matching lids, topped with a central knob, harmoniously complete each piece.
