"Louis XVI Pendulum, Astronomy"
An allegorical clock in chased and gilt bronze (original) depicting Urania reading, leaning on a bookcase enclosing the circular white enamel dial with black Arabic and Roman numerals, beside an armillary sphere on a fluted shaft. Quadrangular base in sea-green marble with a palmette frieze and toupie feet. Wire-driven movement signed Bailly Abbaye St Germain A Paris. Late 18th century. Height: 36 cm, Width: 30 cm, Depth: 11.5 cm
