Jules Moigniez (1835–1894) Regule - Spaniel with Pheasant. Jules Moigniez (1835–1894) Spaniel with Pheasant. Regule with brown patina, 19th century. Animal sculpture in regule with a brown patina depicting a hunting dog (a spaniel) holding a pheasant in its mouth. The animal is shown in a pointing position, one leg raised, its body slender and its head turned. The work rests on a rectangular base composed of black marble and light veined marble, characteristic of productions from the second half of the 19th century. Signed Jules Moigniez (1835–1894), famous for his bronze and regule animal sculptures, highly sought after by collectors. On display at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
