"Earthenware Planter From Fives-lille - Art Nouveau"
Fives-Lille Earthenware Planter - Art Nouveau. Oval glazed earthenware planter with a scalloped edge, from the Fives-Lille factory (Northern France). The decoration is inspired by nature, emblematic of Art Nouveau. On one side, a large central panel features a hand-painted flowering iris. The other side displays a decoration of lily of the valley leaves. The whole is enhanced with a nuanced olive green glaze (majolica) and gilded foliate scroll motifs. Stamped DB for Gustave De Bruyn, accompanied by the inscription "Faïencerie Fives-Lille". Numbered in relief 750/1. Circa 1900. On display at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
