"Pair Of Large Bergère Armchairs In Lacquered And Cerused Wood, Louis XVI Style, 19th Century"
A pair of large and comfortable Louis XVI style bergère armchairs in lacquered wood, dating from the early 19th century. These armchairs are painted in shades of verdigris. This is their original paint, which consequently shows signs of wear and use, revealing the wood in places, thus giving a limed and romantic effect to the whole. The woodwork is in good condition and very stable. A few small losses are to be noted (particularly on the back of one of the armchairs, a small restoration - see photo 10). These seats are enveloping, comfortable, and well-padded. Upholstered in raspberry-colored velvet. A charming set.
