"Bronze Statuette - Venus At The Bath - Jean De Bologne - 19th Century"
A so-called "cabinet" statuette depicting Venus at her Bath ("Venerina") after a model by the Mannerist sculptor Giambologna (1529-1608). Bronze with a medal patina on its breccia marble base and gilt bronze plaque. The exceptional quality of the chasing and patina is noteworthy. Paris, circa 1880. Foundry: E. Jullien (19th-century Parisian manufacturer specializing in precious objects and high-quality bronzes). Round mark under the plaque: "E. Jullien, 12, rue Pasquier, Paris". Excellent overall condition (minor repair of a chip on the base), bronze in perfect condition. Total height: 19 cm. Height of the bronze alone: 12.7 cm. Diameter of the base: 6.6 cm.
