Important Gilded And Richly Carved Palace Torch Holders, Central Italy, 17th C. (70cm X 140cmh)
Beautiful and interesting palace sconces in gilded and finely carved wood. These decorative elements were placed at the entrance to a courtyard or palace, measuring 140 cm high and approximately 70 cm deep.
The carving is rich and elaborate, with vegetal racemes following one another, revealing vine shoots and bunches of grapes.
These are rare objects, especially for their state of preservation, as they are virtually intact with the original gilding perfectly preserved and, at most, simply require cleaning.
Period: Mid-17th century
Area: Papal States
We include a certificate of authenticity with the sale.
