Palace Candlesticks From The Early 17th Century With The Guidi Di Romena Family Coat Of Arms.
Artist: à Etudier
A splendid and elegant pair of candlesticks, entirely made of wood, with fine pastiglia stucco decoration, rich in classical-style festoons and cherub heads carved in low and high relief, adorning the rich scrolls on the lion-footed base. The candlesticks are believed to be Roman-made in the early 17th century and feature a coat of arms with a heraldic element belonging to an important family of medieval origins, the Counts Guidi of Romena, who ruled for centuries between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna. The candlesticks originate from an important palace in central Rome. They measure 170 cm in height and approximately 60 cm in width.
The candlesticks have undergone restoration to consolidate the original gilding, which was preserved intact. Minor losses and damage have been completely repaired and complemented with gold leaf. These chandeliers, already electrified and equipped with their skylights, are ready to be placed in your living spaces and halls, adding a touch of extreme elegance to any decor.
We include a certificate of authenticity with the sale. Shipping and delivery to be agreed upon with the customer.
