Set Of 12 Cheese Knives In Mother-of-pearl, Vermeil And Gilded Steel
A set of 12 cheese knives in vermeil, mother-of-pearl, and gilt steel. Classic Empire/Restoration style with a lined edge. The blades are marked "Paris." Late 19th century or 1900. A very elegant set with harmonious proportions and excellent craftsmanship. The handles are mother-of-pearl, the bolsters and ferrules are vermeil (hallmarked for sterling silver), and the blades are gilt steel (sharper than sterling silver). They are not monogrammed: you can have your own monogram or coat of arms engraved. A beautiful set in good overall condition, with some oxidation to the gilt on the blades. Length: 17.5 cm
