Marie-Louise Gabrielle of Savoy (1688-1714) was a princess of the House of Savoy, who became Queen of Spain through her marriage to Philip V in 1701. Daughter of Victor Amadeus II, Duke of Savoy, she was sent at a very young age to the Spanish court in a diplomatic context linked to the War of the Spanish Succession. Intelligent, energetic, and politically astute, she played an important role in the government of the kingdom, acting as regent on several occasions during her husband's absences. Highly regarded by the Spanish people, she died prematurely at the age of 25, leaving behind the image of a devoted and influential queen despite an extremely short life.
