"Sollies Bridge By Van Hoecke"
A very pretty oil on canvas measuring 60cm x 81cm plus frame, titled on the back "Clouds over Solliès Pont," signed Van Hoecke. I have no idea who the artist is. The painting must date from the 1960s or 70s. It depicts a village in the Var region near Toulon, which has been home to many artists. The work is of very high quality and exudes a wonderful atmosphere. It has a hazy, even misty, quality to this usually sunny village.
