Marco Behar (1898 - 1959) Oil Painting On Hardboard Paris Bridge In The Buttes Chaumont Park
Artist: Marco Behar
A beautiful oil on hardboard depicting the sun-drenched, tree-lined paths and its famous single-arched bridge in the Parc des Buttes Chaumont in Paris. This park was particularly dear to our artist, who himself lived in the 19th arrondissement. The shimmering color treatment of this oil on hardboard demonstrates the artist's great talent as a colorist. I invite you to view my other paintings by the same artist for sale in my gallery. Dimensions: 59.7 cm x 49.5 cm (approximately 12F format = 61 cm x 50 cm). Unsigned. Very good condition. The painting has been professionally cleaned. Known for having devoted most of his life to comedy and vaudeville, he then continued his acting career for nearly 30 years as a member of the Comédie-Française. In the late 1940s, he began to devote himself to painting, displaying undeniable talent. He painted with great vibrancy, both in his brushstrokes and his use of color, depicting urban landscapes of Paris and its surroundings, as well as magnificent natural landscapes (such as Gavarnie or Moustiers-Sainte-Marie). Provenance: from his studio collection, which contained the bulk of his work and was dispersed 20 years ago. Please note that I respond to all inquiries about my items.
