"Small Louis XIV Style Walnut Wardrobe With 2 Doors And 1 Drawer, Demountable."
A very pretty small Louis XIV wardrobe in solid walnut, opening at the front with two doors and a large transverse drawer at the bottom. It rests on a base formed by a frame, two rectangular feet at the back and two ball feet at the front, all encircled by a wide molding. The sides are made up of three panels with a flat band. The whole is topped by a cornice that also forms the top of the piece. Our wardrobe was fully restored during the 19th century, and therefore includes some minor repairs: one upper and one lower rail at the back have been replaced, and the base, as well as the upper section forming the top and the cornice, have also been restored. The body of our wardrobe has been modified; the peg assembly has been replaced by a clever system of lag bolts located inside the body, thus allowing for quick and easy assembly and reassembly.
