Beautiful and unique ceramic sculpture by Annie Maume, in bas-relief depicting (perhaps) a fantastical bird, dating from the 1970s/80s. Signed in relief on the base "Maume," this ceramicist, born in 1945 and wife of the painter Robert Heraud, trained at the La Borne school before opening their workshop in Sancerre (Cher). The La Borne school, an internationally renowned pottery center, has seen many great artists pass through its doors for years, including Jean and Jacqueline Lerat, André Rozay, Vassil Ivanoff, Élisabeth Joulia, Jean Linard, Joseph and Marie Talbot, Anne Kjaersgaard, Gwyn Hansen, and Janet Stedman.
