Art Deco Sideboard, Black Lacquer, Maple, Chrome, France, Circa 1930
A beautiful, classic Art Deco buffet in black lacquer and chrome, from France, circa 1930.
The body is walnut with a glossy black lacquer finish. It has a lovely shape with a gently curved front and a curved base. The front is framed by an original decorative molding, recently chromed. Two doors on the sides have a maple plywood and lacquered interior. In the center, there are two drawers at the bottom and a lockable drop-front with an open compartment at the top. On the inside sides, there is a height-adjustable mahogany veneer shelf with a light maple border. The original hardware and handles are finely crafted and have recently been chromed. Two of the door hardware pieces have antique Art Deco keys. In the center, there are four original shell handles. Fully restored.
