Beautiful set of six neoclassical Biedermeier shovel chairs (backrest in form of a shovel) from South Germany around 1840/50.
Solid Walnut and walnut veneer with walnut roots inlays on the front of the shovel. Ebonized upper edge of the shovel.
Tapered square legs, straight at the front, curved at the back. Re-upholstered in black boucle / teddy fabric.
