Bronze with brown patina - very good condition - signed. Tokyo School of Fine Arts, by Asakura Fumio. He regularly participated in official exhibitions from 1909 onwards. He devoted his career to animal art, particularly horses. (Equestrian portraits of Emperors Meiji, Taisho, and Showa; monuments of animals that distinguished themselves in military conflicts.) He participated in the art competitions for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932 and in Berlin in 1936 (equestrian subjects). A large part of his models was damaged or destroyed at the end of World War II, and his monuments were melted down. A certificate and an illustrated biography will be given to the buyer. 1,450 kg
