Saint Clement Earthenware Holy Water Font
Saint-Clément Faience Holy Water Font - Early 19th Century. Polychrome faience holy water fonts, fired using the low-fire technique, with a shape characteristic of this manufacturer. A hole in the top of the cross is associated with a ribbed cup and a pointed finial, and features a heart surmounted by a cross. The others have a seven-lobed shape forming a "shell." Some are reproduced in the reference book (see photos). They are all restored except for the first one, which is intact. No. 2: numerous chips on the cup and a restored chip near the suspension holes. No. 3: a restored chip on the cross, yellowing of the glaze. No. 4: broken in two and glued back together at the cup. They can be sold individually at €70 for the polychrome ones, €35 for the white ones. They can be sold individually: No. 1 = 60 euros, No. 2 = 35 euros, No. 3 = 25 euros, No. 4 = 25 euros
