A covered pewter vegetable dish from Besançon - 18th century. Large, circular pewter vegetable dish with a straight shape and a strongly domed lid fitted with a flat knob. The handles are palmette-shaped. Footed base. Double hallmarked with a hammer bearing the initials "CAG de Gonelle Claude-Antoine, received as a master in 1739" (see Tardy, page 209). Excellent condition. Diameter 21.5 cm, width including handles 27 cm, total height 16.5 cm
