A decorative Aurelian Ware pedestal vase with cover and twin handles, model 143.9, designed by William Moorcroft for James MacIntyre & Co., Burslem, circa 1898.
Created for cabinet display, the vase features a shallow bowl on a tall stem with a domed cover and gilt finial. The decoration uses a cobalt-blue ground, heavy gilding, and rust-orange floral motifs, combining transfer printing with hand-applied enamels.
The base bears traces of an erased factory mark and the impressed shape number “143.9”.
A well-preserved and decorative example of MacIntyre’s late Victorian Aurelian Ware.
