Fireplace plaque dating from the first half of the 18th century, bearing the combined arms of Annibal, Charles-François Morel de la Motte de Gennes, 1704-1789, Marquis de la Motte, in Ille et Vilaine, originally from Anjou, with proofs of nobility dating back to 1400, and of Anne-Esther Martin de la Balluère, 1700-1775, married in Saint Etienne de Rennes in 1734. The Château de la Motte de Gennes, located in Gennes sur Seiche not far from Vitré, built in the 16th century, property of the de Farcy family, passed through the marriage of Marguerite de Farcy and Francois Morel in 1669 to the Morel family, which was restored at that time and which they retained until the end of the 19th century. Currently owned by Mrs. Agnès du Campe de Rosamel and her husband. The fief of the seigneury of Châtelet in Brielles, subject to that of La Motte de Gennes, was erected into a castellany in 1573 by King Charles IX. This plaque was found in Laval, Mayenne.
