Important Louis XV Fireplace In Marbrière Stone From Burgundy
Important Louis XV fireplace from the 18th century, in Burgundy marble stone, slightly pinkish dappled with beige, in very good original condition. Its animated lintel, sculpted in its center with a symmetrical shell with scrollwork alongside bat wings and conch shells at its ends, rests on jambs, projecting and consoled, adorned with channels and a set of moldings. A torus travels along its focus line. This fireplace could be waxed, as originally, to reveal its colors. Note some small chips from use. Its body length is 168 cm.
