Louis XVI-style Fireplace Made Of Banded Campan Marble
A Louis XVI-style fireplace made of striped Campan marble (Hautes-Pyrénées) from the 19th century, in perfect condition. Its recessed mantelpiece is adorned with grooves, as are its side posts. Its cast-iron hearth surround, adorned with a floral cross-pattern, and its restored hearth slab are original. The hearth slab, framed in Carrara marble, is inlaid with rectangles of Sarrancolin marble at its ends and Turquin blue marble in the center.
Its footprint, including the hearth slab, measures 135 cm by 72 cm in depth.
The length of the firebox is 134 cm.
