Painted miniature, portrait of a man, late 18th century. Miniature painted on ivory depicting a bust-length portrait of a man, dressed in a green coat and orange waistcoat, with a white tie, typical of the late 18th century. The oval miniature is presented in a blackened wood frame with a molded profile, enhanced by an inner gilt brass border. Artist unidentified. Late 18th – early 19th century. Good overall condition. Minor wear to the frame consistent with age. On display at Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
