"View of a Park near Paris."
He debuted at the Salon des Artistes Français. He was a painter of flowers and Paris, from the grand boulevards to popular dance halls. A friend of Claude Monet, he owned a flower painting by Quost in Giverny. It is now in the Musée Marmottan in Paris, a gift from Michel Monet along with works from his father's collection. Vincent Van Gogh mentions Quost's roses in a letter to his brother Theo.
Museums : Bernay, Castres, Gray, Limoges, Nancy, Paris (Musée Marmottan, Musée d'Orsay), Rouen. Oil on canvas. Bears the studio stamp in the lower right corner.
Dimensions of the subject : 51.4 x 40.5 cm.
The canvas has been remounted on a new stretcher.
