In 1903, Louis Bouquet enrolled at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Lyon, which he left in October 1907 for the École des beaux-arts in Paris, where he was admitted to Fernand Cormon's studio until July 1910. Bouquet became friends with Joseph Bernard and Marcel Lenoir. He studied under Paul Baudoüin in the fresco workshop in 1911 and also under Marcel Lenoir. In 1912, Maurice Denis commissioned him to decorate the ceiling of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. (Handwritten signature lower right, print reference lower left: 115/160)
