View of Genoa, oil on canvas, located and dated lower left: Genoa 1823, signed right: Joinville. Antoine-Victor-Joinville (1801-1849), painter and draughtsman born in Paris. Student of Louis Hersent, he exhibited at the Salon from 1831 to 1848 with views taken in Italy, where he stayed for a long time, and in Algeria. It has its original frame, which shows wear to the gilding.
