Imposing Gilded Wooden Glory Carved With "putti Heads" 19th Century Period.

Radiant glory, also called a cloud of angels, often originally used to crown an altarpiece, an altar canopy, or to surround an oculus in a church.
Origin: Italy. 19th century.
This piece is a fine example of 19th-century religious or decorative art objects, reflecting the aesthetic codes of the Baroque style.
The center is adorned with two cherub or putti heads sculpted in high relief.
Their faces are chubby, with a serene expression and curly hair, typical of celestial iconography.
The angels emerge from a cluster of stylized, swirling clouds.
The faces are gilded.
While the clouds display a silvery patina, creating a contrast that accentuates the effect of depth and movement, 16 rays of unequal length radiate from the center to form a star.
They have a molded cross-section, imitating beams of divine light.
The entire piece is made of carved and gilded wood.
The gilding shows natural wear.
This glory was designed to be hung or mounted high.
This piece is in excellent overall condition.
