Stunning Russian solid silver mugs/cups with handles, richly engraved with Neoclassical-inspired scrollwork and foliage motifs.
Engraved with a chisel; assembled with a threaded stem at the base.
Origin: Tsarist Russia.
Solid silver (Russian fineness: 84 zolotniks, equivalent to 875/1000).
Hallmark identified below the rim:
* fineness mark: 84.* Assayer’s hallmark dated 1849, accompanied by the master assayer’s Cyrillic initials: Letter K
* Silversmith’s hallmark: Cyrillic initials I. K.
* City hallmark.
Weight: 191 grams.
The engraving is very delicate, covering both the body of the piece and the base.
The handle is fluted and features beautiful scrollwork.
It has a beautiful patina of age with slight signs of wear; see photo.
Note that the rim of the foot is slightly dented.
