Trumeau Mirror, Painting On Canvas, 18th Century
Antique Louis XVI trumeau mirror, partially restored. The lower frame has been restored, as has the mirror itself, which has been replaced, along with part of the back panel, which has been fitted with a plywood plate. (See photos, which also serve as a description.) The upper section is adorned with a painting depicting a Romantic scene on 18th-century canvas (see detailed photo of the canvas weave). This painting is in good condition and does not appear to have been restored. The wood is painted a light gray and patinated. You will notice that the small, irregularly carved balls are indicative of 18th-century craftsmanship, as are the joinery in the upper section. The restorations to part of the frame blend very well with the original elements and the patina. Thus, there is no visual impact once installed on the wall. I can send more detailed photos upon request. Height 190 cm, Width 75 cm, Thickness 4 cm. The item is quite heavy, but it can be shipped with careful packaging using thick polystyrene sheets over the paintwork and also over the mirror. The entire piece is protected with thick cardboard and bubble wrap. Worldwide shipping in very good packaging. It is possible to build a wooden crate with interior polystyrene panels.
