Wine Jug/water Pot Normandy/paris - 19th Century
Artist: Chaumette Arthur
Wine Pitcher/Water Jug, Normandy/Paris - 19th Century. I believe this is an old Norman wine pitcher that has been converted (loss of its lid) into a water jug. It may have been reworked in a Parisian workshop (see hallmarks), but this remains to be confirmed. It bears the Chaumette Arthur hallmark of a crowned rose with the initials "ND" and an angel with the initials "AC". These two hallmarks are reproduced in Tardy's "Les étains parisiens" (page 163). See photos. An unusual object due to its history. Good condition. Height 18.5 cm
