Silver Sugar Shaker/shrimp – Late 19th Century – Hallmarked 1893
A solid silver powder shaker, dating from the late 19th century, made according to the decree of June 29, 1893. The piece has a baluster shape resting on a circular pedestal, richly decorated with chased friezes and gadroons. The openwork lid with geometric decoration is surmounted by a finely worked finial, typical of silversmithing of this period. A silversmith's hallmark is present under the base, but it is unidentified. Height: 24 cm; Maximum diameter: 9 cm; Weight: 435 g
