"Large Italian Brass And Crystal Chandelier 31 Lights, Restored, Circa 1950"
Large Italian brass and crystal chandelier with 31 lights, restored circa 1950, with an impressive cage structure embellished with a multitude of shaped crystals, pinnacles at the top, fan-shaped pendants, daisies and faceted almonds, crystal festoons connecting the arms ending with flower-shaped bobèges. This antique chandelier consists of four shaped brass uprights with a square section on which the thirty lights are arranged in three rows. The completely renovated electrical system has been designed with two separate switches that allow for the lighting of twenty-five or thirty bulbs. The chandelier is wired for a maximum power of 500 watts. The structure of this monumental mid-20th-century chandelier has been completely dismantled, cleaned, polished and protected with Zapon protective varnish applied with a brush. The crystal hooks have been completely replaced. The chandelier is now in excellent condition, ready to illuminate a large hall.
The central light with an E27 fitting at the bottom of the chandelier is concealed by a shaped glass dome. This had a clear break in the crystal, which has been glued and gilded using the kintsugi technique and is now barely noticeable from below.
The chandelier is of Italian origin and comes from a villa in Emilia, dating back to the mid-1900s.
Due to the considerable diameter of this antique chandelier, in order to allow for its transport, the arms will be dismantled and classified in order to allow it to pass through the doors. With a video and assembly instructions, it will be easily reassembled once it reaches its final destination. The chandelier was collected from a villa in Emilia and dates back to the mid-1900s. Weighs 43 kg.
