An elegant marquetry writing desk, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The front features three drawers, each secured with a key. The shaped top is covered in recent red leather, tooled in gold. The marquetry is rosewood arranged in a leaf pattern. It rests on slightly cabriole legs with closed gilt bronze sabots, bearing a quality mark. The desk is richly ornamented with high-quality gilt bronze mounts around the drawers and along the legs. It measures 101 cm in length, 65 cm in width, and 75 cm in height.
