"Louis XV Style Cherry Wood Chest Of Drawers, 18th Century "
A Louis XV period (18th century) marquetry cherrywood chiffonier. This charming chiffonier, crafted from solid cherrywood, rests on four cabriole legs ending in delicate gilt-bronze sabots. The piece presents a slender and harmonious silhouette, typical of the Louis XV period, combining refined lines and elegant proportions. The slightly concave top with molded edges is richly decorated with figurative marquetry depicting a floral scene enlivened by two birds perched on branches and a magnificent small bird in flight. The marquetry work, using contrasting woods, highlights the natural grain of the wood and testifies to refined craftsmanship. The front features three drawers, adorned with finely chased bronze keyhole escutcheons. The top drawer conceals a sliding writing surface covered in its original leather, providing discreet and sophisticated functionality. The original locks and fittings enhance the piece's authenticity. The sides are paneled, the lower rail delicately shaped, and the whole piece has a beautiful warm patina, revealing the quality of the cherry wood and the care taken in its preservation. A piece of furniture that is both decorative and functional, ideal as an accent piece in a living room, bedroom, or study. The top of our chest of drawers measures 46 cm x 36 cm and its height is 77 cm.
