"Bonheur Du Jour In Marquetry On Four Sides, In The Louis XV Style, 20th Century "
A Louis XV style bonheur du jour, in rosewood and palisander marquetry, worked in a frieze and lozenge pattern on all four sides. The tiered writing surface, fitted with an openwork bronze gallery, is divided into three compartments: two with doors and an interior drawer, and the central compartment lifts up to reveal a bronze-framed mirror. The writing surface is covered in green leather with a gilt border and opens with a drawer. The piece rests on four cabriole legs, adorned with bronze, joined by a stretcher. This highly decorative bonheur du jour is in perfect condition.
