Probably from the late 19th or early 20th century
Laid paper.
Artist and scene to be identified.
Signed in the plate on the right.
Dimensions: 32 x 24.5 cm.
Superb maritime subject with a lovely treatment of the sea in bokashi (ぼかし), a light mist or clouds visible in the sky revealing a subtly embossed sun, leaving its imprint on the back of the paper. The birds are also rendered with great delicacy, and the whole is in a relatively unexpected format, close to the ōban format : framed in black within an oval.
In good condition, it should be noted that there is a central crease (common for prints of this period) as well as a wormhole in the center near the crease and the sea horizon.
This print is technically very beautiful and will certainly delight whoever can attribute it.
