Beautiful English style shape
Plain bowl mounted on a foot decorated with an openwork frieze
Beautiful lid with cyma molding, enriched with a strawberry leaf finial consisting of four circles of foliage and a screw ending in a knob.
Very good overall condition.
A very similar model by the goldsmith Hans Caspar I Wüest, mounted on a square base and decorated with lion's head finials, is illustrated in Lösel's book [no. 308 p. 427, see last photo].
