Pair Of Large Italian Torchères, Probably From Naples, Early 19th Century
A refined pair of Italian mahogany torchères, dating from the early 19th century and likely originating from Naples. The torchères rest on tripod bases with elegantly curved feet ending in stylized hooves, adorned with decorative goat heads crafted from wood with a gilt patina. The semi-globular bodies are patinated green, fluted, and surmounted by a rosette. The rounded tops are fitted with marble insets, one of which has been repaired. The pieces are in museum-quality condition, reflecting their historical significance and exceptional craftsmanship.
