"fishermen On The Banks Of The Marne" By Etienne Augé
Etienne Augé was born in the 19th century in Saintes, Charente-Maritime. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1865 to 1872. This charming painting is titled on the back by the artist "An Arm of the Marne." A wax seal is present on the back of the mahogany panel. Etienne Augé is listed in the "Bénézit" dictionary. The painting is enhanced by a beautiful wood and stucco frame, partially gilded with gold leaf. Note that the frame has undergone some restoration. The overall dimensions are 28.5 cm x 22 cm.
