King's Bodyguard Sabre, 1st Model. Shagreen-covered grip with wire wrapping. Gilt brass hilt, four-branch guard, and shell guard with the arms of France. Pommel stamped "197". Quillon double-stamped. Curved blade with a flat back engraved "Manufacture Rle du Klingenthal Octobre 1814" and a fuller engraved with trophies of arms, fleurs-de-lis, the arms of France, and "GARDES DU CORPS DUROI" (punching). Leather scabbard with three brass mounts. Length: 110 cm.
