From the Towers of Notre-Dame – circa 1900
Original color lithograph
Parisian Landscapes Series
Rare original color lithograph by Henri Rivière, a major figure in the revival of French lithography at the end of the 19th century, and published around 1900 in the famous series Parisian Landscapes.
This composition depicts a panoramic view of Paris from the towers of Notre-Dame, under a snowy winter landscape. The work is distinguished by its silent atmosphere, subtle tones, and Japanese-inspired treatment of space, characteristic of Rivière's style.

Very, very fine condition.

The print has been mounted according to best practices on pH-neutral board, guaranteeing excellent stability and long-term preservation.
However, in the center of the composition, in the gray sky, there is an old, indelible pencil mark, very likely original, probably appearing during the printing of the lithograph.
This peculiarity does not alter the legibility or the strength of the image, but explains the more accessible price of this copy. Overall, the image remains absolutely magnificent, with a great visual impact.
