A beautiful marquetry jardinière, bearing the Tahan mark (interior label), dating from the 19th century in the Napoleon III style. This very attractive and imposing table jardinière, with its elongated quatrefoil design, is veneered in rosewood and palisander. It is adorned with two Louis XV Baroque bronze handles and features a Sèvres-style medallion on the front depicting a scattering of flowers surrounded by a light blue border with gilt highlights. Entirely decorated with chased and patinated bronze mounts, it boasts a beautiful openwork bronze gallery and a removable zinc tray. The quality and craftsmanship of this Parisian workshop, which produced a significant amount of furniture during the reign of Napoleon III, are evident.
