"Nubian Man Carrying A Polychrome Wooden Torch From The Late 19th Century."

A Nubian torch holder in carved and black lacquered wood, decorated with polychrome and gilded clothing, Venetian work from the late 19th century. The figure depicts a standing gondolier, one arm raised holding a candelabra adorned with crystal drops, the other holding an oar. At his feet is the prow of a gondola. The whole rests on an octagonal wooden base painted to imitate green marble. Electrified. In very good condition.
