Dining Table Signed Majorelle, Art Deco Period

A round, extendable table in mahogany and rosewood, Art Deco period. Signed Majorelle, Nancy, with an inlaid shell. The apron is highlighted by an inlaid frieze of mother-of-pearl and ebony. Octagonal base with canted corners. Folding legs beneath the tabletop support the extensions. Five extensions, each 50 cm long, for a total length of 3.90 m. French polished finish. Very good condition. *Louis Majorelle (1859-1926) was a French cabinetmaker and decorator of the Art Nouveau movement of the École de Nancy, of which he was also vice-president.
