Rare Art Nouveau style polychrome salt-glazed stoneware vase with an oval neck and an oxblood effect.
It is signed and numbered under the base and still has its two original paper shop labels.
Period: 20th century.
CONDITION:
good condition, no chips, no cracks, some minor firing cracks on the foot.
Roger Guérin: a renowned Belgian ceramist from the village of Bouffioulx near Charleroi, he specialized in experimental salt-glazing techniques.
The use of flowing glazes is typical of his work. He won a medal at the 1925 Paris Exposition of Decorative Arts.
