Biography:
Charles Henri Pille (1844-1897) was a French history painter, genre scene, watercolor portraits, engraver, draftsman and illustrator.
He was born in the Aisne but quickly moved to Paris where he was a pupil of Jean-Antoine Gros then of François-Joseph Barrias. After participating in the Salons of 1864 and 1865, he traveled to Germany and Switzerland.
He won numerous medals and is exhibited in museums.
