Firefighter Officer's Helmet From The Town Of Gannat, Type 1895, Third Republic.

Entirely made of chromed metal. Spherical helmet with a raised rim at the bottom. Visor and neck guard welded to the helmet at the bottom and folded back to form a rim. Crest with internal fixing screws, adorned with a flaming bomb on the mask. Gilt brass front plate depicting a shield surmounted by a flaming grenade, topped with a crown and a ribbon bearing the inscription "SAPEURS POMPIERS DE GANNAT" (Gannat Firefighters) framed by oak and laurel branches. Tubular plume holder with a slightly tapering square cross-section, engraved with acanthus leaves. Black waxed leather lining with nine gilt-stamped edges. Size 55 cm.
